Walk for LEPROSY 2011
One of the ways of fighting stigma against leprosy is conducting meetings and other awareness programmes on ‘World Leprosy Day’. The World Leprosy Day is observed on the last Sunday of January and in India particularly on 30th January, coinciding with the martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi, who espoused the cause of leprosy. During the previous years we conducted walks and rallies involving people from different walks of life. This year also we are planning to organise a “WALK FOR LEPROSY” on Sunday, January 30th at 7.30am starting from People’s Plaza via Raj Bhavan, Khairatabad flyover and end at Necklace road station premises.
