Laxmi, a 30 year old migrant construction laborer at NCC hails from Srikakulam district. She came with her only son to Hyderabad after her husband deserted her. She started having sexual contacts with men, which became her livelihood, while simultaneously she also continued her work at the site. During the process of awareness activities and counseling she revealed about her contacts to one of her co workers. She was educated on HIV/AIDS and safe sex practices. During process of counseling, a change in her behavior was observed. She began to use condoms, and took treatment for STI.
