LEPRA Society is actively involved in the implementation of National Anti Malaria Programme (NAMP) in four districts of Andhra Pradesh state, namely Hyderabad, Medak, Karimnagar and Adilabad and in two districts of Orissa. Major areas of involvement in the National Anti Malaria Programme are:

Early Diagnosis & Treatment: Treatment at the project clinics as well as referral to other centers.

Vector control programmes: Supporting villages and slums on cleaning operations, chemical spraying, and promoting of bio-larval methods.

 

Promotion of treated bed-nets and repellents: Facilitate the distribution of treated bed-nets and promote the use of repellents.

Capacity building programmes: Implementing capacity building programmes for the health care personnel, especially those working in the PHCs and capacity building of community structures.

Promoting the involvement of Community structures like village Panchayats, Anganwadi centers and other social groups in the villages.

IEC Programmes: Intensive awareness programmes using different innovative and local specific methods to ensure community participation and awareness.
