Lagophthalmos is a condition that is potentially blinding, also disfiguring and disabling, perpetuating the stigma associated with leprosy.
There were no other eye care services within the radius of 70 Kms. in Sonepur district. Leprosy affected persons developed severe eye problems consequent to the lack of proper supervision and early intervention.
