Introduction
DPMT - is a program management unit based at the district level, working in close coordination with the Additional District Medical and Health Officer on HIV/AIDS programs to ensure better project management, and to strengthen the existing systems at the district level. The main purpose of this team is to ensure better implementation of different projects by providing necessary technical and managerial support from the government and NGOs.
The DPM Teams are currently operating in Guntur, Krishna and Prakasam districts of Andhra Pradesh.
Areas of Operations
The project is functional in 3 districts namely Krishna, Hyderabad, and Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh.

Objectives
• To integrate and mainstream district based HIV management services available in the community.
• To develop need based community oriented targeted interventions (uncovered and identified in mapping)
• To undertake periodic mapping based on strategic planning, in alleviating the impact of HIV/AIDS in the general population.
• To strengthen the ICTC & Targeted Intervention service delivery system through constant monitoring and necessary support.
• To train and equip Primary Health Centers (PHC - Nurses, Outreach Workers, Doctors Etc.) in providing efficient HIV/AIDS related services.

LEPRA Society & Network of People Positive, Hyderabad, are implementing the PPTCT out-reach program in four Government maternity hospitals in Hyderabad, with support of APSACS under GFATM
Future Plan
• Facilitate advocacy with Private Health Institutions, IMA, and local leaders.
• Provide need based technical support to PHC Medical Officers, Paramedical staff and Lab Technicians.
• Provide training to Peer Educators and Out Reach Workers as a part of capacity building.
• Expand rural mapping of vulnerable populations and plan for interventions.
• Phase out and hand over the project to APSACS at the end of the 3rd or 4rth quarter.
• Rural mapping of HIV prevalence and hotspots, Mandal wise.
• Transport blood samples for CD4 testing.
• Capacity building of staff nurses and Lab Technicians.
• Establishment of link ART centers.
• Enhance Coordination among different projects (GOs, NGOs, CCCs etc.)
• Update the District Profile.
• Strengthen the supply chain system by facilitating the availability of HIV testing kits with Additional DM&HO and centers.
