Research Advisory Committee (RAC)

A Research Advisory Committee (RAC) of BPRC was formed in the year 2000 with the following objectives:
Giving guidance to the overall direction of research of the Institution
Identifying priority areas of research
Discussing specific proposals
Advising on possible sources of funding

Ethical Committee (EC)

The Ethical Committee (EC) of BPRC was formed with the following objectives:

Aim:
To review Bio-medical research projects to contribute to safeguard the dignity, rights, safety and well being of the patients.

Basic Principles:
A cardinal principle of research involving human participants is “respect for the dignity of persons”
The goals of research should never be permitted to override the health, well-being and care of the patients.
Principle of Justice requires that the benefits and burden of research be distributed fairly among all groups and classes of society, taking into account age, gender, economic status, culture and ethnic considerations.

Institutional Bio Safety committee (IBSC)

1st Institutional Biosafety Committee met under the Chairmanship of D Balasubramanium on Mar 18, 2005 to discuss the Standard Operating Procedures for infective material, bio-security of equipment, DNA Banks, Bio-Waste Disposal Management.
