Microbiology division of BPHRC aims at the diagnosis, applied research and training in infectious diseases such as TB, HIV-TB co infection, Lymphatic filariasis (LF) etc.

Diagnostic services for pulmonary and extra pulmonary TB and MDR TB by conventional and rapid methods

Rapid tests for diagnosing MDR TB including molecular diagnostic methods.

Studying the characters of all the M. tuberculosis clinical isolates with special reference to geographical diversity, MDR and treatment failure.
